“Anytime you experience traumatic loss early on it changes who you are and drastically affects your view of the world.”
~Anderson Cooper
What we choose to do with our new view of the world is up to us, our courage and our decision to work hard. And ingenuity helps too.
Anderson took his early losses (he lost his Dad and brother by age 21) and realized he felt comfortable in war zones with people experiencing huge loss themselves. He turned his loss into empathy for others in loss and chose to relay those stories to news channels.
How can we turn our loss into good? That is- How can we transcend the loss emotion and spin it on its top to provide a home for that feeling that allows us to give something back to others? We are finding purpose for the tremendous loss and not letting the tremendous power of a tragedy to be wasted.
