Meditation to Beat Emotional Ping-Pong

‘Positive Thinking’ (just) creates another story in our mind. Awareness transcends both positive and negative, allowing us to free our mind.

I am all for stories if they help me feel better. But maybe practicing awareness through meditation is a healthier way to deal with negativity. Otherwise, are we in a never ending ping-pong match with feeling good-feeling bad?

Is that why they call it “Transcendental Meditation? Because it helps us to transcend the feeling good-feeling bad ping-pong match we have with ourselves?!

From Wikipedia:

Transcendental Meditation (TM) refers to a specific form of silent, mantra meditation and the organizations that constitute the Transcendental Meditation movement. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi created and introduced the TM technique and TM movement in India in the mid-1950s.

  1. I wish I could escape my mind. I could be in the most beautiful place but it’s “chatter, chatter, chatter”. Worries, doubts, forgotten tasks, replaying parts of the week. I wish I could leave it at home.

    1. Mrs ESTJ! I have so missed you. How are you doing? I love your chatter mind. I am going to pester you now to write a blog on your chatter mind. 🙂

    2. Thanks for stopping by Mrs ESTJ!! I wrote a funny bit about my arguing with my chitter chatter Monday morning. She is somethin’!
